Psychogeography as a means in approaching Street Photography
Guy Debord argued that society has become a series of spectacles, commodities having overtaken all aspects of life, and we have been reduced to passive receptacles who act only to serve capitalist power. Psychogeography is a means to reveal our relationship to public spaces, by urban drifting through the streets and exploring the subconscious messages conveyed by the city. It’s all about the delight of getting lost in the rhythmic repetitiveness of putting one foot in front of the other in order to become Baudelaire’s “seeing eye”
